"An organisation to enable older people no longer in full time paid employment to share knowledge, experience and skills with each other"
Our local group has a programme of regular general meetings with speakers, interest groups, social functions and committee meetings.
We have around 30 groups with a varied range of subjects and activities. Many new friendships have been formed and fresh interests acquired by people who have found us.
We welcome ideas for new groups and offers of help to form and lead them. No qualifications are required just that you want to gain new skills and to help others to learn from your experiences. At our main monthly meetings we have speakers on a wide range of interesting topics, information about group activities, a book & jigsaw stall, refreshments and most importantly the opportunity to meet and chat with fellow members.
| Mon Jul 16th 2012 | Upstairs & Downstairs, a talk by Patricia Boyd. Come & find out what it would have been like to be a live-in servant in the Victorian/Edwardian times. |
