- Your spectacles can be supplied FREE if you receive certain benefits or we will save you money if you have to pay.
- You will receive FREE delivery of your glasses in a case with a cloth, so you don't have to collect them.
- We produce high quality results and offer a money back service if you are not satisfied.
- Your eyes are important to us too, which is why we offer an aftercare service between eye tests.
Your Eyes Are The Windows To The World & An Insight To Your Health
We can't see into our own eyes and so having regular eye examinations can detect early warning signs of eye conditions that would otherwise go undetected and threaten our eyesight.
In Glaucoma the eye pressure can increase and damage the optic nerve. You may not feel this increased pressure and would only perceive blind spots when the disease had advanced. Other conditions do not always begin by affecting the vision. For example, a pigmented area on the retina could develop and become diagnosed as a malignant melanoma. Observing the pattern of blood vessels in the retina can be used to diagnose hypertension. Whilst dry eyes can associate with rheumatioid arthritis.
A recent Lancet article* illustrated how embryonic stem cell research is being conducted to help form new retinal tissue in an attempt to improve eye sight. This is great news and a further advance from when we were involved in testing the efficacy of Lucentis, the drug used to treat Wet Macular Degeneration.
